KENT, WA – June 3, 2008 – The Kent Fire Department sadly announces the death of Firefighter Marty Hauer.
Firefighter Hauer, a 15 year member of the Kent Fire Department passed away early this morning after a one year long battle with Thymic Carcinoma, a rare form of cancer.
Firefighter Hauer joined the Kent Fire Department on August 2, 1993 and was assigned to “A” shift. Hauer, a fitness advocate, was very active in the development and promotion of firefighter fitness programs. He was a peer fitness instructor for the department and also taught fitness seminars across the country in support of the International Association of Firefighters Wellness Fitness Initiative.
Hauer, who turned 41 in November, is survived by his wife of 16 years, a 10 year son and 9 year old daughter.


In honor of our fallen brother Marty Hauer whose courage will forever inspire us.

Rest Day

You should schedule your rest days like you schedule your workouts.  Rest days are just as important.  You do NOT build muscle while working out, you build muscle while resting.
